Hugh Hewitt and Ronald Reagan

President Ronald Reagan used to remind fellow Republicans of the 11th Commandment:  "Thou shalt not speak ill of a fellow Republican."

It is lamentable to hear so many "conservative" radio "journalists" and commentators breaking this commandment with such passion and glee.  Hugh Hewitt's calling Senator McCain the "anti-conservative" is among the most flagrant violations.  Indeed, Hugh seems to be on a McCarthyite hunt to find every fault of every Republican opponent to his icon of conservatism. 

It is always the case that if one cannot be persuasive with reasoned argument then one necessarily resorts to name calling, hyperbole, and half-truths.

One can only conclude that Hugh Hewitt belongs to the "Richard Nixon branch" of the Republican Party and not the mainstream of Grand Old Party of the Gipper.

What do NPR's Scott Simon interviewing Daniel Schorr and  Salem Radio's Hugh Hewitt interviewing Governor Mitt Romney have in common?
 
Both "journalists" ask soft, sympathetic, "oh my" questions to which they already know the answer, and neither are interesting radio.

Next they will be renaming the Hugh Hewitt Show to the Mitt Romney Infomercial Hour.

Where the US should Pull out its Forces

OK.  It has been a while.  This is a temporary post, just to get back into the blogging business.

Where should we pull out our troops?

How about starting with Korea and Bosnia?  But even before then, let's think of Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

After these nations are "US military free" there are numerous other places to consider.

When we get down to just Iraq, Kuwait and Afghanistan, then I will be willing to listen to people who say we should bring the troops home.

Why the West Will Win the War Against Islamo-Fascism

The answer is music.  Tonight we went to a local outside band concert.  We heard Dixie and The Battle Hymn of the Republic.  We also heard Gary Owen, and the concert concluded with Stars and Stripes Forever.  This is music to fight by.  What martial music do the Islamo-Fascists have?  Screaming "Allah akbar" may cause momentary fright, but upon reflection seems more like a plea - "Why do they have music and we only get virgins?"

Yes folks, music is part of the answer, part of the superiority of the West.  It is one reason we will prevail.  We have better music.  Just listen to a Sousa march and you'll know I am right.

"Look away Dixieland!"
